Julia Roberts' daughter Hazel, 16, made a rare public appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.

The teen had her red carpet debut as she stepped out with cinematographer dad Daniel Moder for the premiere of Flag Day at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.

Enjoying her time on the red carpet, Hazel wore a loose-fitting midi dress that had a yellow lace floral pattern.

Hazel completed the look by wearing a pair of black shoes and she also accessorised with a gold necklace.

Opting for a relaxed look on the red carpet, Hazel's blonde locks were pulled back into a messy ponytail.

Daniel, meanwhile, put on a dapper display in a black suit and tie that he paired with a crisp white shirt for the occasion.

He served as Director of Photography on Sean Penn's father drama Flag Day, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will have a limited run in US theatres on August 20.

Notting Hill star Julia shares twin daughter Hazel and son Phinnaeus, as well as son Henry, 14, with husband Daniel, and they are notoriously private about their family life.

The actress originally met the 52-year-old Emmy-nominated cinematographer on the 2000 set of Gore Verbinski's film The Mexican co-starring Brad Pitt. 

She and Daniel tied the knot in 2002, several years after her short lived marriage to Lyle Lovett. 

Julia and second husband Daniel celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on the Fourth of July this year with a rare beach selfie.

The Georgia-born 53-year-old - who boasts 9.2M Instagram followers - gushed: '19 years. Just getting started! #conwings' 

Julia's post received glowing comments from the happily married Rita Wilson and Sam Taylor-Johnson as well as a 'like' from happily single comedian Chelsea Handler. 

Danny took to his own Instagram with another snapshot of the couple.

There, he wrote: 'Today we start our 20th year of marriage. This photo was on a dusty road before that big idea … just holding on to this beautiful girl one day at a time. One epic day at a time.'
