Two parents and an aunt in Indiana are facing charges after a baby in their care was found covered in rat bites and blood. The 6-month-old boy had over 50 bites on his face and body, with missing flesh on his fingers. The parents had reported a rodent problem and the home had been treated multiple times. The child's mother had checked herself into a mental health facility, but was released early due to the incident. The home had previously been visited by child safety workers and described as cluttered with animal feces. All three adults are facing felony charges.
